We're glad you've found Massanutten Regional Library on the web. The library’s web portal is a gateway to an extraordinary amount of valuable and unique information. Whatever stage of life you find yourself in, we have something to offer, not only in our collection, but also through the services and information we provide in our virtual library on the web.
Founded in 1928, MRL has been an integral part of the community for over 80 years. The library system has seven locations, which are cornerstones of the educational infrastructure in the local communities they serve.
The core tenet of a public library ensures that you, as a citizen and resident, have access to information that is valid, authoritative and unbiased, and materials that impart different viewpoints on any topic. Our staff is committed to providing you with materials for entertainment, information, and life-long learning.
Your library is a private, non-profit organization governed by a Board of Trustees, all local residents. Most of our financing comes from three localities MRL serves: Rockingham County, the City of Harrisonburg, and Page County. Another chunk of support arrives annually from the Commonwealth of Virginia. And, of course, your donations to the library make a world of difference!
Feel free to use all the resources on our website--with one caveat--you'll need a library card to access some of them. If you want to share your thoughts about our library and its services with me or any other member of the staff, we always welcome fresh ideas and new ways to improve MRL.
