K-5 Stuff

These programs and activities are geared towards grades K-5, unless otherwise noted. Younger children welcome with a grown-up.

Awesome Animals @ Main Library
Come on out for a special program with the SPCA! Learn what they do and how you can help, Saturday, September 20 @ 1pm.

STEM Saturday @ North River Library
Join in the STEM fun this month and make a hovercraft, Saturday, October 25, 10:30am - 12 Noon. Open to children in grades K-5.

Cool After School @ North River Library
This is exactly what it says! Literacy-based events, for grades K-5, take place at North River Library on the 1st Tuesday of the month @ 4pm.  These events will center around current events, holidays, author studies, books, and STEAM SOL-related fun activities.  Contact North River Library for more information, 540.434.4475 option 4.

Crafty Kids @ YOUR Library
A new craft each month for kids grades K-5. Younger children welcome with a grown-up.

Accelerated Reader (AR) Book Finder 
Please check with your school to make sure that they carry the AR test for the book you choose from the AR website. 

TumbleBooks are online, animated, talking picture books. These books are available for FREE to all library patrons, courtesy of the Library of Virginia!  Just click on the icon to the left to begin enjoying the TumbleBookLibrary!
