2012 Children's Fall Schedule
Massanutten Regional Library Youth Division announces that its fall programming for children will focus on science and drama. These events are family-oriented and are for all ages.
Jim the Science Guy will be featured on Saturday, September 15, 2 pm, in the meeting room at Massanutten Regional Library Main. Genies in bottles, walking on water? Is it science or magic?
Massanutten Regional Library and The Discovery Museum are collaborating to bring a dairy program to the area on Saturday, Sept. 22, from 10-1 pm. While the Discovery Museum will feature hands-on activities, MRL Main will feature special storytimes. The Dairy Association will display a dairy presentation in MRL’s library atrium for the event.
The Bubble Lady will return to MRL Main’s meeting room on October 20, 2 pm. Children can enjoy watching Margie Lynch create all size bubbles. Lynch is also noted for placing “children” and “smoke” inside bubbles.
Hampstead Theater of New Hampshire will return to the area with four presentations during the month of November. The theatrical stage company will present Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Treasure Island,” the fantastical tale of pirates, buried treasure, and adventure. It tells the story of young Jim Hawkins and his perilous search for the buried treasure of Captain Flint. Children will meet Long John Silver and his band of marauding pirates while on an exciting journey across the seven seas. Throughout this swashbuckling tale, children learn the danger of greed and importance of helping others.

North River Library
will host the theatrical production at its special location, John Wayland Elementary, on Sunday, November 11, 3 pm.
