The Lua Project @Central Library

Hailing from Charlottesvile, the Lua Project is a group of family and friends that play Mexilachian music, an original blend of Mexican, Appalachian, and Jewish folk music. The concert features heartfelt songs and stories, in Spanish and English, with beautiful vocals, lush harmonies, intricate melodic passages, and Mexican and Appalachian percussive dance. The ensemble includes Estela Knott on vocals, jarana, and zapateado, with David Berzonsky on requinto and upright bass, and their daughter, Luna Berzonsky, on violin, jarana, percussion, and harmony vocals.
