Rocktown Author Festival Panel - What I Wish I'd Known: Authors Talk Marketing

Adults (ages 18+)

Marketing a book can be one of the most confusing - and least transparent - parts of being an author. From social media and newsletters to events, advertising, and paid services, it's often hard to know what's worth your time, energy, and money.

In this panel discussion for our 6th annual Rocktown Author Festival, authors with a range of publishing experiences reflect on the marketing lessons they learned the hard way. Panelists will share what they wish they had known earlier, what strategies have actually worked for them, what didn't, and how their approach to marketing has evolved over time. Whether you're an aspiring author, working on your debut, or several books in, this conversation will focus on practical insights, common pitfalls, and sustainable approaches to reaching readers.

Panelists include: Linda Berry, ACF Bookens, Heather S. Cole, and P.A. Duncan
