Adults (18+): Join author Mills Kelly for a discussion of his book "A Hiker's History of the Appalachian Trail." Most histories of the Appalachian Trail tell the story from the top: who proposed it, who built it, who maintained it, and some of the famous hikers. A Hiker’s History of the Appalachian Trail focuses on the history from the ground, or boots, up. Using trail shelter registers, hiker accounts, newspaper and magazine stories, photographs, old films, and other sources, Mills Kelly tells the story of the people the trail was created for.
