Dolly Parton's Story Time Party @Central Library
Did you know that Appalachian singer/songwriter and philanthropist Dolly Parton will be 80 years old this year? You Better Get to Livin', grab your Coat of Many Colors, and come on down to Central Library as we read Dolly's favorite books! We'll be joined by special guest Rebecca Porter, a nationally-acclaimed singer and songwriter. All caregivers with kids under 5 years old will have the opportunity to sign up for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library! Children of all ages are welcome to join us as we celebrate Dolly Parton's music, influence, and Imagination.
About Rebecca Porter:
Born in Guam and raised in the Shenandoah Valley, Rebecca Porter blends soulful melodies and fearless lyrics with her honey-smooth voice to create her own brand of Appalachian honky tonk! Her 2023 EP, Queen of the Local, earned national acclaim and led to recognition in Rissi Palmer's Color Me Country Class of 2024, features on Ed Helms' Good Country, and a debut on NPR's Mountain Stage.
