A Songwriter's Journey Through American Music @ Central Library

Angela Easterling will present a free performance of her own original songs interspersed with selections of classic folk, roots, and country tunes. As part of her performance, she will discuss the craft of songwriting and tell the stories behind her songs and how they came to be, weaving in some of the history of roots music and the artists who have influenced her writing. Her duo partner, Brandon Turner, will provide descriptive demonstrations of blues music and different styles of blues guitar.

Angela Easterling brandishes her songwriting chops with rootsy, refreshing, homespun tunes. Her duo partner, Brandon Turner, masters many complex styles, with instrumentation that fleshes out the stories in Angela's songs, and adds some rocking fun and harmony. Their act is not quite country, not quite folk, but altogether unique and engaging.
