MRL Library Card Contest
Due: October 2, 2026
Prizes:
- First Place - $400 + artwork featured on MRL's adult or youth library cards
- Runner-Up - $100
In celebration of our 100th Anniversary in 2028, Massanutten Regional Library is seeking two artists to design special anniversary adult and youth library cards to be used system-wide. A winner and a runner-up will be selected from each category by a group of qualified judges that includes local representatives from Oasis Fine Art and the Arts Council of the Valley, as well as library staff. All submitted art becomes the property of Massanutten Regional Library to reproduce, modify, publish, and/or display; this includes but is not limited to displays, bookmarks, calendars, and publication on the website.
Artists are free to present their design, which should mention the 100th anniversary or "birthday" of MRL, contain our logo, and demonstrate the theme of MRL's vision: to be the welcoming heart of our community where all come to learn, discover, create, and connect. We intend for this art contest to be a memorable piece of art that library users can "put in their pocket" for years and decades to come. This contest was made possible by the Arts Council of the Valley's Advancing the Arts grant.
