Chief’s Letters: A World War II Memoir @Central Library
Adults (18+): Join us as author David Wood discusses his book “Chief’s Letters: A World War II Memoir.” The book contains transcribed letters written by or to Harold Wood (the author's father) from his WWII days, 1943-1945. The letters are presented in chronological order and offer a glimpse into the life of a soldier and his friends and family in Broadway, Virginia. David Wood will share photos of letters & letter writers while he reads parts of some letters.
About David Wood: David Wood is a Longwood College graduate with degrees in History and Political Science. David is a retired teacher that specialized in history and government. He spent ten plus years working on Chiefs Letters: A World War II Memoir. David enjoys genealogy and being a volunteer and on the Board of Directors of the Plains District Memorial Museum. He acts in community theatre, is a lifelong blood donor and also serves as an election worker.
