Massanutten Regional Library has hired Bethany Reedy as the new Branch Manager of Shenandoah Community Library. The role focuses on coordinating branch programs, fostering relationships with community organizations, assisting library patrons, and maintaining the branch’s collection of books and materials. Reedy is replacing Ruth Reid, who resigned in September.
Reedy has worked in commercial and agricultural banking for the past five years, but Shenandoah Community Library had a permanent place in her career plans. “I have dreamed of becoming the librarian at the Shenandoah branch since I was a young child, so I am very excited to make this dream a reality,” she states. “My main goal is to expand programming and attract more patrons to the library, and I’m excited to work with the Shenandoah Community Library Board.”
Library Director Zach Elder is thrilled by Reedy’s community connections. “Bethany will be an asset to the Shenandoah branch because of her knowledge of the town and ties within the community, as well as her extensive knowledge of books and authors. Anyone who wants to know ‘what to read next’ should visit Bethany at the branch.”
Shenandoah residents will have the opportunity to meet Reedy at Shenandoah Community Library’s Holiday Open House Celebration from 11 AM to 2 PM on Saturday, December 14.
