Massanutten Regional Library is pleased to announce the hiring of Becky Deloney as Branch Manager of Shenandoah Community Library (SCL). In her new position, Deloney will oversee branch programming, build connections with local organizations, support library patrons, and manage the branch’s collection of books and resources. She succeeds Bethany Reedy, who stepped down in August.
Deloney began her library career at JMU’s Carrier Library in college and later returned to work in the Technical Services and Cataloging department. She brings over a decade of experience in education and libraries, including time at the circulation desk of Massanutten Regional Library’s Central Branch in Harrisonburg.
“I am excited to be the Branch Manager at SCL because I have loved libraries from a young age,” Deloney said. “My biggest goal is getting to know the community in order to expand programming and library usage. I am thrilled to learn more about Shenandoah, as I already appreciate its beauty and friendly people!”
Library Director Zach Elder is delighted to have Deloney back at MRL. “I’m so excited for Becky rejoining us because she has such a passion for community librarianship. Her friendliness and compassion will match well with Shenandoah’s residents.”
