Education and Test Prep

You will need your Student Access Card (SAC) ID Number for resources with an asterisk (*). Some resources may ask for a barcode or library card number or patron ID, this is your SAC number.

*Brainfuse HelpNow – Offers personalized academic assistance in core subjects (math, reading, writing, Languages, science, and computer programming), practice tests for skills-building (including SAT preparation), and much more. Live tutoring is available in either English or Spanish from 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM EST. Students may submit papers to HelpNow’s Writing Lab for expert assistance and feedback.

*EBSCO Read It! – provides those who have a basic foundation in grammar and reading with quality educational articles on a range of topics such as history, literature, science and life skills.

Find It Virginia – Access a variety of academic and popular databases relating to a multitude of topics such as biographies, business, health and wellness, and computers.

Gale In Context: Elementary - Is an exciting resource designed especially for students in kindergarten through grade five that includes educational and engaging videos, images, and magazines.

Learning Express – Test preparation and skill building courses for all levels of students from elementary to graduate, including GED prep.

*Universal Class - offers more than 500 online courses, which are either self-paced or instructor-led. Classes offered cover a wide variety of topics such as accounting, computers, writing, cooking, crafts, and many more.
